The story takes place on the live quiz show Q-1 Grand Prix, where contestants compete for a 10-million-yen prize. During the highly anticipated one-on-one buzzer-quiz final, the climactic last question triggers an incident. In the tense atmosphere, Kizuna Honjo - the opponent facing the protagonist, Reo Mishima - somehow produces the correct answer even though not a single character of the question has been read. No matter what kind of quiz it is, deriving an answer from a question with zero characters should be impossible. From this single unbelievable question unfolds a shocking truth - and a tale of two lives.
