When Father Craved a Smoke (1913)
Three men are suitors for the hand of old man Briggs' daughter. He is a "beaver" for work and his daughter emulates his example, and when the suitors call, she "tries them out" by placing them on the woodpile. Then happens along a slick, but lazy individual in dudish attire, who manages to live without work. Old man Briggs is simply dying for a smoke. The dude supplies the necessary weed and wins the girl.
