Judge Simpkins' Summer Court (1911)
In the little town of Waterloo, the suburb of a large city, so frequent have become the arrests of auto speeders that a branch court is instituted at the outskirts of the village, where most of the arrests have taken place. Judge Simpkins and the attachés of the branch court are lounging under the trees, waiting for speeders, but have waited all day in vain, and when they are invited over to a neighboring farmhouse to help Sid Jenkins move a corn crib, they are delighted at the chance to make the few extra dollars. They are gone but a short time when a crowd of hobos come on the scene and take possession of the court. They arrest several speeders and finally a young fellow with a small car, which appears to be a baby compared with the others. In this they set out for a joy ride. This, however, proves their undoing, for Judge Simpkins and the others have heard of them, through one of their victims, and starts in pursuit. The tramps are finally arrested and receive their just deserts. All Releases
