Village of Darkness (2022)

The story follows Rebecca as she sets out to do an essay on her home village for a college project. Rebecca recently told by her parents that she was adopted. She doesn't know who placed her up for adoption, only that they lived in the same village that she also lives in. She decides to do the project on her town as a way of trying to find her birth family. In this village there are two major families, the O'Reilly's and the Lynch's. These two families run opposing businesses in the village and have a long-standing feud. Nobody from outside of the two families are aware of why they despise each other, although many have speculated as to what they are fighting about. Rebecca's older brother, Jake decides to help her out with her research. As Rebeca digs deeper and deeper into the village's history, She is confused by the lack of information available. Word eventually gets out to Tom O'Reilly and Pauline Lynch, the Patriarch and Matriarch of their respective families. Rebecca goes to the village library where she finds very few answers. The pair go to the Lynch family house first where they meet a frosty Pauline. She gives them no information at all. Jake says they should go to the O'Reilly inn and look for information. She reluctantly agrees to go with him.
