The Wonderful Electro-Magnet (1909)

An inventive genius discovers a magnet that will attract human beings. It is operated by means of a lever. He demonstrates his invention to a moving picture man, who, impressed with its possibilities for boosting his waning business, places it near the box office of his theater with amazing results. A young minister, whose bishop has requested him to do something to increase his congregation, passes the moving picture house about that time and is caught by the magnet. Apologies and explanations follow. He has a brilliant idea and induces the inventor to accompany him to his church, where they try the scheme at the door. The result is highly satisfactory, as every passer-by is attracted to the interior of the church, willing or otherwise. The comedy of the picture is farcical and hilarious without in any way offending. It will prove immensely entertaining to both young and old.
