À la recherche d'une profession (1911)

Gontran, although his motto is "Do nothing and let it be said", decides to work because the hand of his beloved, the charming Hélène Dickson, is at that price. The vocations of the elegant Gontran lead him to become a barrel organ player, a day laborer, a waiter, a smoker, etc. Finally, his perseverance receives its reward and the father of the blonde Hélène, disarmed by the good will of this original suitor, as much as exasperated by the baroque choice of his professions, grants him the hand of his daughter, on the condition that he will henceforth give up all kinds of work.
