Hiring a Girl (1909)
Mrs. Newlywed goes to the employment office to hire a girl. There are more than fifty applicants for a position. As soon as Mrs. Newlywed makes her appearance she is besieged by the crowd. Frightened, she runs away, followed by the anxious women. She appeals to the police for protection, but the police are helpless against such a hurricane of femininity. After many incidents and accidents, Bridget finds the exhausted Mrs. Newlywed and brings her home. There she reigns now as the queen of the kitchen.
