Fiancé courageux (1911)

Is Gontran brave? This is the question his fiancee Jeannine asks herself. However, experience having demonstrated his extreme pusillanimity, the parents broke off the planned marriage. The suitor, desolate, seeks a way to gain favor with them and offers, as a testimony of his bravery, to slap any gentleman in front of them. After a thousand hesitations and aborted attempts, Gontran leads his witnesses to a station and there, gathering all his courage, taking each other by the hand, he administers through the door, at the moment when the train whistles, a mistress slaps a bewildered traveler. Gontran, radiant, comes to claim the prize for his bravery, which Jeannine, touched by his good will, kindly grants him.
