Incomprehensible Prescription (1912)
Mr. Walker has pains that upset the whole family, who are gathered round his bedside applying remedies. The doctor, after examining the patient, writes out a prescription, which he directs to be sent to the chemist to be made up. The maid goes off to the dispensary, but the chemist cannot decipher the mysterious scroll, and at half-past ten the mistress follows to know the cause of the delay. She is followed by the man-servant and her daughter, and at 12 o'clock they are all endeavoring the decipher the mysterious prescription when Mr. Walker, the patient, arrives. They all go off to see the doctor, and get him to write the prescription out afresh, but, alas, the writing is so bad that he cannot decipher it himself. The whole party fall upon the unfortunate doctor, who takes shelter in Mr. Walker's house, where he is soon discovered and forced into bed, while Mr. Walker, whom the excitement has cured, writes out a prescription that can be read, and makes the doctor swallow the dose when it is made up.All Releases
