Won by a Skirt (1913)

Ramona and Corrinne, in company with their father, while spending the summer at the seashore, enter into unusual complications as the result of Ramona's constant flirtation with Mr. Lee. The two lovers are suffered to be interrupted, parted and pursued through their entire courtship as a result of her father's disapproval. At last the desperate parent decides upon a new plan of action, and Ramona is transplanted from the temptations of the resort into Miss Dilly Pickle's Select School for Girls. Ramona's sister Corrinne assists Lee in a preparatory counterplan to baffle the opposing father. Having lodged his daughter safely within the sanctuary of Miss Pickle's school, the father returns to his home in a very satisfactory state of mind, while his daughter relapses into a state of love-lorn melancholy. She, however, is suddenly revived by the unexpected appearance of a Fanny Fleming, alias Lee Moran, her lover, who, having arrayed himself in the female garb, has entered Miss Pickle's Select School for Girls. The two immediately become affectionate chums to the satisfaction of their principal. Love's course, however, does not run smoothly, owing to her watchful eye, which furnishes many amusing situations. Later, the father's visit adds to the discomfiture of the lovers, and they hie themselves hence to a position of seclusion, where they may coo undisturbed. Lee, a habitual smoker, avails himself of the chance to enjoy his pipe in peace. His state of ecstasy is, however, suddenly interrupted by the unexpected appearance of the father, who happens upon the ardent lovers from the rear. A general turmoil follows in which Lee is fully exposes, later ending with the father's forced appreciation of their inseparable hearts.
