The Bully's Doom (1914)

Pearl Dugan, the pride of Pig Alley, is loved by and loves Mugsy Sullivan. Pug Hogan, a big bully, also likes Pearl, but she dislikes him on account of his brutal nature. Every time Hogan finds Mugsy with Pearl he proceeds to beat him up. Pearl gets disgusted with Mugsy because he does not attempt to protect himself, and she tells him not to talk to her again until he has thrashed the bully. Mugsy is about to give up all hope of winning Pearl, when he happens to pass a street faker's stand and is struck with an idea. He proceeds to test it and purchases a few bottles of the faker's "Sneeze Powder." Mugsy starts for Pearl's home and revenge. He finds Hogan waiting for Pearl and while the bully's back is turned Mugsy blows the powder in his eyes and nostrils and while he is sneezing Mugsy proceeds to thrash him. Unable to defend himself, Hogan is obliged to take the beating, thereby losing his reputation as a bad man, as well as allowing Mugsy to win back his sweetheart.
