Dad's Watch (1912)
Dr. Billings will not sanction his daughter Mabel marrying her own choice, which in this instance is a tolerably worthy young man, and Jack conspires with a friend to win the old man over by force. Bill, the pal, is an actor of some repute, and the two enter into the scheme with a good deal of zest. It is a pleasant surprise to Dr. Billing to learn that he is invited to take dinner with Dr. O.U. Mastodon, of Washington, and to also meet two well-known professors of the Biffslonian Institute. The doctor is naturally surprised when the professors prove to be of the opposite sex and of a very gay nature. Wine is also served and Dr. Billings becomes unusually jolly. The catastrophe comes when he is left to settle the bill and has to hand over his watch as security. Jack bribes the waiter for the watch and returns it next morning, when he is promised the hand of the doctor's daughter in trade for silence concerning his future father-in-law's escapade of the night before. All Releases
