Earning His Salt (1916)
Jack likes the ladies, and in addition he doesn't do enough work at his father's office to "earn his salt." When his sweetheart, Jean, urges that he be more serious he quits his father's employ and puts a "To Hire" sign on his automobile. With Jack in the unpleasant position of a public chauffeur all sorts of mix-ups follow, giving Jean an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, curing him of his fickleness and frivolity.
