The Good in the Worst of Us (1913)

Joan proves her sisterly love by saving Mary from the penitentiary. The life that Joan led had often placed her behind the bars, but she could not bear to see her younger sister, Mary, travel the same route. Mary married a man, presumably in good circumstances, but after the wedding vows had been taken, Mary discovered that her husband was making counterfeit money. The two were arrested. Joan proved conclusively to the judge that her sister was not guilty, that she herself had been making and passing the fictitious bills. Joan sacrificed her freedom for the love of her sister.
