Broncho Billy's Reason (1913)

The infant love of a son for his mother, prompted Broncho Billy to secure money by fair means or foul to save her home. In the first place he sold his gun for almost nothing and gambled the receipts which he lost. That night, when all was still, Broncho Billy stole twelve horses, which he managed to take out of the pens and take to a neighboring town, where he sold them. The following morning the ranch owner discovering the loss, notifies a score of cowpunchers. They go in pursuit. Broncho Billy escapes. The horses are taken from the buyer and returned to their owner by the sheriff. Several months later the stock buyer receives a check from Broncho Billy, stating that "this will square things."
