Slippery Slim and the Claim Agent (1914)
Slim hears of Silas Sloe collecting $50,000 from the railroad. Slim has an idea. He rigs up a dummy and places it in front of a train. He then makes believe that it was he who was injured, and brings suit against the railroad. A claim agent offers to settle the affair for $5.00, but Slim refuses. During his absence Mustang Pete, who has called on Sophie, poses as Slim when another claim agent appears. Pete releases the railroad of all responsibility for $9.00. When Slim returns, Sophie tells him what has happened, and they proceed to handle poor Pete most roughly. All Releases
