Vernon Howe Bailey's Sketchbook of Philadelphia (1916)

This is a split reel release, the first five hundred feet containing sketches of all points of interest in the quaint old city of Philadelphia. The drawings were made by Vernon Howe Bailey who is recognized as the best in the world at this particular line of work. This week Mr. Bailey pictures the old Swedish church which was built by the Swedish settlers shortly after the discovery of this continent. He also pictures the city hall, Broad Street, Christ Church, which both Washington and Franklin attended, Independence Hall, where the declaration of independence was signed, and also the home of the Liberty Bell, Chestnut Street, the smart shopping quarter of the city, Fairmount Park, which is said to be the greatest of all city parks, and the home of William Penn, founder of the city of Philadelphia.
