John Oakhurst, Gambler (1911)
John Oakhurst, gentleman gambler, long identified with early western life, meets Alma. His admiration and love for the young girl are true and sincere. Carried away by the glamour of the gambler, she jilts George Clarry, her former sweetheart. Later, at the gaming tables, Murphy and Davis attempt to rob Oakhurst of his winnings, but their plans are frustrated by George. Oakhurst realizes he is unworthy of Alma's innocent love and he shows his manly character and gratitude by reuniting the young couple. He then departs, heavy-hearted, but a bigger, better and stronger man for having known a real woman. All Releases
