A Newsboy's Luck (1911)
Turned out of his home by his drunken father. Joe finds shelter in a newsboy's home. One day while selling papers on the street, he sees a moving-picture company rehearsing a scene that requires a newsboy. Joe is drafted for the job and does his part with such ability that the director asks him to call at the studio. On his way home he's run over by an automobile and taken to the hospital. His recovery takes six months; during that time his father dies and his mother secures a position as governess to a wealthy family. Unable to find his mother at their old home, Joe remembers the kind director and goes to the studio, where he is welcomed and given a position. One day the company secures permission to take pictures on the grounds of a beautiful mansion. While they shoot a scene, an elderly lady rushes up and clasps Joe in her arms. It is his mother. Thus happily reunited, they set up their little home. All Releases
