A Jealous Guy (1916)

Who said he's dead? The bullet hasn't been invented yet that could pierce the hide of Hughey. While calling on the wife of the most jealous man on earth, Hughey is made the target for a volley of shots from that worthy's revolver. Hubby shoots with telling effect; he has no regard for the high cost of trousers. In the midst of the battle Hughey drops, apparently dead, but as the police nab the murderer the "corpse" starts rolling downstairs carrying all before it. It then gets up, rushes to Wifey's room, and nabs a couple of burglars who were stealing a priceless necklace. After the rumpus is over he explains to Hubby that he is his brother-in-law, a detective by trade, and Hubby requests him to kindly refrain from kissing his wife, as he would rather have that pleasure reserved for himself.
