Chyort s portfelem (1966)
The journalist of the regional newspaper "Raduga" Mikhail Makarov, a fearless author of accusatory fieletons, a principled fighter against slovenliness and mismanagement, sharply criticizes the editor-in-chief, who does not let his scandalous articles go to press or cut off his scandalous articles due to lack of facts. Once buying potatoes at the market, Makarov meets a young saleswoman who offers him to collect critical material on her collective farm for the next fieleton. Having gone on an editorial trip and convinced on the spot in all the facts about the rotting record crop of potatoes, the enthusiastic journalist prepares a devastating article. But, unexpectedly finding himself for a short time in the place of his boss, and faced with the real bureaucracy in the planned economy of various departments, Makarov changes his mind.
