The Wheels of Justice (1913)

George Townley, a rising young novelist, is hurled from a high bridge and his manuscript stolen by a jealous and unsuccessful rival. At the same time, a bridge constructed by Frank Vincent, brother of George's sweetheart, collapses, killing several men. Frank flies the country in fear of prosecution, and his sudden departure throws suspicion on him for the disappearance of George. From a start so unusually interesting, the story sweeps on to many strange complications. How George was rescued by peasants: how a peasant girl fell madly in love with him, and how, throughout many trials and adventures, George's sweetheart remained true to him, makes a charming tale, prettily told and charged with action.
