In the fall of 1793, the essayist and naturalist Georg Forster meets his estranged wife, Therese, and her lover Ferdinand Huber. Over the course of three days and nights, and in the shadow of the revolutionary events in Paris, a private melodrama takes place in Travers, Switzerland.
