And Now Tomorrow (1952)
The National Board of Missions of the Presbyterian Church of the U.S.A. begins in 1802. When Revolutionary War captain Gideon Blackburn preaches to his troops, he is chastised by Gen. Andrew Jackson. Although Blackburn is ready to quit the military, he decides to apply his energy to missionary work within the organization. Over the next decades, the church's original eight missionaries, including Rev. John Chavis, Samuel Worest, Dr. Marcus Whitman, Sheldon Jackson, Amanda MacFarland and Rev. Frank Higgins, are sent to various parts of America to spread the word of the Presbyterian church. Traveling through Kentucky, Georgia, Oregon, Alaska and other western states, the missions add to the growing country's spiritual development. All Releases
