West of Sonora (1948)

Steve becomes a Deputy to help find the outlaw Black Murphy whose one hand is a hook. Although the Sheriff and Murphy are grandfathers to the same little girl, they are bitter enemies. Meeting Murphy, Steve is not convinced he is the man they want. He is right as the Sheriff's brother has a hook he uses to place the blame on Murphy. When the little girl becomes owner of a valuable mine, the brother now plans to get rid of the Sheriff, Murphy, and the girl.
