
The Spanish Parrot Girl (1913)
In order to save her father from the designs of the cunning Spaniard, who holds his promissory note. Lola Hernandez, the beautiful parrot-girl, is about to sacrifice her young life. A wealthy young tourist, Richard Avery, falls in love with Lola. Knowing that her father will object to the young millionaire, Lola promises to elope with him. The Spanish rival hears of the intended elopement and waylays Lola and her lover. Lola is returned to her father and the young tourist is incarcerated in the dungeon of the Mission Church. His automobile is wrecked by an explosion of the gasoline tank. Through the aid of a priest, Richard Avery is liberated and arrives at Lola's just in time to confront his Spanish rival, who is in the act of demanding Lola's hand in marriage in lieu of the money owed him. Avery saves Lola by marrying her himself, and as a wedding present, he gives the girl a cheek with which she can pay her father's obligations.All Releases
