A Muddle in Horse Thieves (1913)
Tom Mix picks up a horse, but being hard pressed and finding the animal is giving out, he passes a cowpuncher who has dismounted to take a drink, and takes possession of the fresh mount and gets away, despite the fact that he is fired at. His last victim follows after him, but is himself overtaken by a posse, who accuse him of being the thief. The real villain, however, riding forward, passes an old man driving a team, who recognizes the horse as the property of his son, so he joins in the pursuit. The horse-thief, now closely pressed, takes to a motorcycle, but the old man looks keenly over the heavy barrel of his Winchester and brings him out of the saddle while the machine is going at full speed. All Releases
