Consuelo, a survivor of domestic violence, waits for the next train that will take her to a new life as she begins to reminisce about the time she spent at a shelter for abused women. There she met Celia, a woman Consuelo tried to help. Unfortunately, no matter how hard Consuelo tried, Celia opted to follow the wrong path. For this big screen adaptation of his powerful flamenco piece, receiving its world premiere at our Festival, Lorente builds the story with a singular mix of Spanish dance, cinematographic narrative and the testimonials of survivors of domestic violence. The film stars Paloma Gómez y Raquel Gómez, former National Ballet of Spain, alongside such distinguished Spanish actors as Juanjo Artero, Andoni Ferreño, Ramón Langa, Manuel Galiana and Carmen de la Maza, among others... The original piece had its U.S. Premiere right here in Chicago at Northeastern Illinois University in a collaboration with Ensemble Español.
