Summer Light
Living in Istanbul, Erdem is a young painter at the beginning of his career. He is making plans to settle in Çanakkale, where he was born and raised. Going to Çanakkale for two weeks to rest, Erdem learns that his old friend Arda, with whom he was completely disconnected after a traffic accident, is holding an art exhibition in Bozcaada. Erdem creates a reason to confront his past, which he has been avoiding for years. We watch the complexities of Erdem losing the girl he was in love with in a fatal accident and eventually starting to enjoy this tragic event, seeing that experience as a fingerprint and gaining the power to add it to his own past, the sense of belonging he tries to re-establish with his family, and the power of a person to deceive himself for the sake of his ideals, from the perspective of a young painter.
