RAN 12.3

On December 3, 2024, the South Korean president declared Martial Law without alerting the legislature. Learning of the declaration, legislators rushed to their Assembly to pass a vote to overturn the declaration, but found the Assembly blockaded. Citizens then rushed to the chambers, and either pushed past, or reasoned with the police, in an effort to assist the legislators in entering the chamber. Under presidential orders, the army then arrived to remove the legislators from the Assembly, but citizens worked together to keep them out. This documentary provides a record of this citizen action to save their democracy, while also covering subsequent efforts to remove the president from office and see justice served against him.
