Soothravakyam

The film begins with a heartwarming premise, introducing Christo Xavier (Shine Tom Chacko), a police officer in a small town who also doubles as a mathematics tutor, running free tuition classes for 11th-grade students at the local police station. This causes some friction with Nimisha (Vincy Aloshious), a local school teacher, whose students flock to Christo's classes, leaving her feeling undermined. However, the film takes a darker turn around the interval. A student named Arya (Anagha Annet) is brutally beaten by her elder brother Vivek (Deepak Parambol), who harbors deep resentment towards her for having been born when he was much older and for her relationship with a boy named Akhil (Naseef PP). Christo intervenes by slapping Vivek at the police station. This incident sets in motion a chain of events that leads to a crime in the village, driving the latter half of the story. The film then delves into themes of patriarchy, social control, and institutional failure as the police station, once a cheerful tuition center, becomes a place of investigation and reckoning. While the first half focuses on the lighthearted dynamics between Christo and the students, the latter half becomes a mystery thriller centered around the unfolding crime. The ultimate revelation about the crime.
