For the second week in a row, the top spot is going to be a toss-up between Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Rio 2. Meanwhile, Johnny Depp's Transcendence got off to a horrible start on Good Friday, and is now on pace for an opening weekend around $12 million.

Friday AM Update: Transcendence earned an estimated $850,000 from Thursday night shows. Among recent releases, that's around half of Noah's $1.6 million start, and around a quarter of 300: Rise of An Empire's $3.6 million. That's an especially disappointing number considering how many people are off from work or school for Good Friday. Two weeks ahead of its U.S. debut, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 begins its international roll-out this weekend. It opens in 15 markets, including major territories like Australia, Germany, Mexico, Spain and the U.K.

This past weekend, Indonesian action movie The Raid 2 expanded nationwide in to 954 theaters. It was arriving two years after its predecessor earned $4.1 million total, so box office expectations weren't particularly high for this outing.
