Striking with $128.1 million in a blazing start to the summer movie season, Iron Man 2 shot past the debut of the first Iron Man, which kicked off with $98.6 million on the same weekend in 2008. 20th Century Fox announced this afternoon that Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn will officially be taking on directing duties for X-Men: First Class, which is now scheduled for June 3, 2011.
April 2010 Out-Grosses Past Aprils
April 2010 was the highest-grossing April of all time, generating $752 million. That was up eight percent over April 2009, which was the previous April record with over $695 million, but the average national ticket price jumped over eight percent year over year to $7.95.
