Both Tangled and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 experienced steep declines this week, though Tangled held on to a greater share of its audience and moved up to first place. Despite another huge decline, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 emerged victorious overseas for the third weekend in a row. Tangled held in second thanks to a solid debut in France, while Megamind was less-than-heroic in a handful of major new markets. This likely was Potter's last weekend on top, as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader opens in 59 markets (including 11 of the top 16) this weekend.

The post-Thanksgiving doldrums were in full effect over the weekend. Tangled climbed past Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 just as the movies' trajectories suggested, though neither held well. The final month of 2010 is here at last, though it's curiously absent of any guaranteed blockbusters. Tron Legacy has a raft of hype, but it would be unrealistic to expect it to be a smash based on its origins. Sequels The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Little Fockers will have a tough time reaching previous series highs, and Yogi Bear and Gulliver's Travels will need to go the extra mile to become this year's Alvin and the Chipmunks or Night at the Museum. After one of the biggest foreign openings ever, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 took a steep drop but nonetheless carried the weekend by a huge margin. In second, Tangled proved its domestic success was no fluke by unleashing huge numbers in Russia.

While 127 Hours and Fair Game officially came out on top this weekend, newcomer The King's Speech was the talk of the arthouse scene thanks to high attendance at four theaters in New York and Los Angeles.
