February 2014 Preview
With little help from January holdovers and a typically modest lineup of new releases, February tends to be one of the slower months of the year. While that won't really change in 2014, there is reason to be optimistic about this February: aside from would-be blockbuster The Lego Movie, other movies with solid potential include Robocop, About Last Night and The Monuments Men. Forecast: Super Bowl Weekend Could Get 'Awkward'
Counterprogramming is the name of the game over Super Bowl weekend this year. Both new releases—That Awkward Moment and Labor Day—are targeted at female audiences that may not be completely consumed by the insanely popular sporting event. Still, Paramount is now expecting mid-teen-millions for The Marked Ones, which would be way off from Paranormal Activity 4's $29 million debut.
