COMMENTS: Miss Congeniality herself, Sandra Bullock, will be honored with a star on March 24. The star will be unveiled at 11:30 a.m. in front of Hollywood and Highland, 6801 Hollywood Boulevard. Bullock's star will be located next to the star of Keanu Reeves, her friend and co-star in the film Speed. Reeves was honored with his star this past January.
Sandra Bullock is one of Hollywood's most sought after leading ladies. She was last seen opposite Hugh Grant in the romantic comedy Two Weeks Notice. The film, which she also produced, grossed over $200 million at the box office. Bullock has also ventured into the television arena by executive producing The George Lopez Show, which is currently in its fourth season on ABC. She most recently completed production on the highly anticipated Warner Bros. Pictures sequel, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous which opens nationwide on March 24. In addition, she recently completed production on the independent film Crash. The film has an ensemble cast and was directed by Paul Haggis.
Bullock's other recent credits include the starring role in the smash hit comedy Miss Congeniality, which she also produced; the lead in the psychological thriller Murder by Numbers, which she executive produced; and the starring role in Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood for director Callie Khouri.
Following acclaimed roles in several motion pictures, Sandra Bullock's breakthrough came in the 1994 runaway hit Speed. Her next two features, While You Were Sleeping, which earned a Golden Globe nomination, and The Net, were both critical and popular successes. Her subsequent starring roles include the recent box office smash Forces of Nature, Hope Floats, which marked her feature film producing debut; Practical Magic, which she also co-produced for her production company Fortis Films; Gun Shy, also for Fortis Films, Speed 2: Cruise Control, A Time to Kill, In Love and War, Two If by Sea, The Vanishing, Demolition Man, Wrestling Ernest Hemingway and The Thing Called Love, and the voice of Miriam in the animated film The Prince of Egypt. Bullock made her debut as a writer/director with the short film "Making Sandwiches," in which she starred with Matthew McConaughey. The film debuted at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival.
