Q. Family movies have recently dominated the box office. On Thanksgiving weekend, the top five movies were rated G (Gereral Audiences or PG (Parental Guidance Suggested) by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). When was the last time this happened on a given weekend and did it ever happen more than one weekend in a row?

A. The last this happened was during the December 18-20, 1998 weekend when You've Got Mail, The Prince of Egypt, A Bugs Life, Star Trek: Insurrection and Jack Frost were in the top five.

Between December 20, 1985 and January 5, 1986, three consecutive weekends had G or PG movies in the top five.
