NEW CHART: Best Ranking Movies by Weekend Rank
This page contains a series of charts that allow you to see which movies
have ranked on the weekend box office chart at #1, in the top 5 or in the
top 10 for the highest number of weeks. You can view both total number of
weekends and consecutive weekends for each of these categories. Click on
the tab at the top of the page to select your view.
A movie must have been released in 1982 or later to qualify. In the case
of a tie (e.g., two movies were at #1 the same number of weekends), the
movie with the higher estimated number of total tickets sold is favored in
the ranking, as tickets sold indicates overall dominance in the
marketplace.
If you have a Premier Pass you can sort this charts by any column header
and see between 100 and 300+ movies per chart. All others can see the top
10 or so movies per chart. A complete description of the qualifications
for these charts is described on their respective pages.
