Spider-Man 2 has won praise across the board and broken box office records, but that hasn't stopped people watching the film and immediately rushing off to Web site MovieMistakes.com to submit continuity blunders and other errors they've spotted. 33 mistakes are listed, already placing the hit sequel at no. 3 in the list of 2004's most error-ridden movies after less than a week on release.

Errors include Spider-Man's mask magically repairing itself after a fight, a scar on Peter Parker's cheek which switches sides during a confrontation with Dr. Octopus, and the driver of a police car who suddenly gains a crash helmet during a stunt.

Website owner Jon Sandys thinks that some people have the wrong idea about MovieMistakes.com: "I get some real abuse sometimes from people who think I live to spot mistakes, which honestly isn't the case. It's just a place to share stuff you've picked up on which others might not have. How many people saw Gladiator but somehow missed the gas canister in the chariot?"

Regardless of their motivation, people are desperate to read about Spidey's blunders, and have been flocking to the Spider-Man 2 page on MovieMistakes.com.
