In the Midnight Hour, 'Attack of the Clones' Attracts $6-8 Million
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones reaped an estimated $6 million to $8 million from its midnight showings and others during the wee hours of Thursday, although there have been no official numbers finalized yet.

Though some industry sources are saying that Attack of the Clones was running slightly behind, The Phantom Menace grossed a similar amount from its midnight shows when it debuted Wednesday, May 19, 1999 at 2,970 theaters and on about 5,500 screens. It went on to earn $28,542,349 for the day.

Attack of the Clones started playing in select markets at 12:01 a.m., rolling out to 3,161 theaters and around 6,100 screens.

Final figures for Attack of the Clones will be released Friday.
