COMPARISONS: Ashanti's eponymous disc marks the largest debut for a female solo artist, topping the 423,000 first week sales posted by Lauryn Hill's "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" in 1998. It's also the biggest bow for a new artist since Puff Daddy's "No Way Out" sold 561,000 units out of the gate five years ago.
