COMPARISON: Brandy's "Full Moon" sold slightly less out of the gate than her last album, 1998's "Never Say Never," which moved 160,000 copies its first week en route to 4.4 million units sold to date.
OTHER DEBUTS: Christian rock group Jars of Clay saw their new set "Eleventh Hour" bow at No. 28 on sales of over 39,000. Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia sold 33,000 copies of her latest "White Lilies Island" to debut at No. 35, a far cry from the No. 10 start of 1998's "Left of the Middle."
CLIMBERS: Enlivened by the premiere of his MTV reality show "The Osbournes," Ozzy Osbourne's latest disc "Down to Earth" jumped 52 places to No. 93 on sales of 9,350. It's sold 670,000 copies after 21 weeks of release. The TV show was seen in 2.3 million homes and was hailed as the most watched series premiere in MTV's history.
GRAMMY EFFECT: In this post-Grammy Awards week, sales were down across the board except for Puddle of Mudd's "Come Clean" at No. 13 with nearly 61,000 sold and Shakira's "Laundry Service" at No. 16 with over 56,000. Album of the Year, the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack, took the top spot despite dipping 24% from last week. Other major Grammy winners Alicia Keys' "Songs in A Minor" and U2's "All That You Can't Leave Behind" slipped three and seven places respectively. India.Arie, whose "Accoustic Soul" got a boost despite no wins, tumbled from No. 14 to No. 23.
