'Star Trek Beyond' Debuts at #1, 'Lights Out' Opens Strong and 'Ice Age 5' Bombs

July 24 - Topped by Star Trek Beyond, five films grossed over $20 million this weekend for the first time since May 24, 2015 and for only the sixth time ever. The weekend also saw an impressive performance from New Line and Warner's Lights Out while Ice Age: Collision Course finished well behind its predecessors over a weekend that saw the top twelve gross over $183 million, up 29.4% when compared to the same weekend last year.
